'A Valediction Forbidding sadness Analysis In the poem â€Å"A Valediction Forbidding Mourning”, by John D cardinal, it is nearly a human who is saying goodbye to his sports fan as he is ab forbidden to leave. Done is move to make his departure easier for his fan so he writes her a poem. He uses umteen deferent literary elements to enrich his poem and make It more compelling to the reader. He uses onomatopoeia, syntax, euphemism, and similes to Inform the reader about his retire. This helps the verbalizer compare his love to life standardised features to show how deeply he Is In love. Done first tells his sports fan that he leave non be gone(a) forever.He explains how â€Å"virtuous men pass lightly external. ” What Done Is saying Is that his caramel has to be able to receive the fact that he Is leaving. Just standardised someone has to accept death. In most cases state do not make the choice to die. It Is something that happens to everyone and in that respect Is nothing to do to stop It. He states that their love is not â€Å"a breach, but an expansion. ” The heart and soul of this is that their love willing never hang up apart, only expand. He Is saying that no look how far they are away from each other, they will always e togeth er.Done compares this to gold because when it is stretched it expands, it will not break. So he compares his love to this because their love will never break. In stanzas 7 and 8 Done compares his love to a grip. In the 7th stanza he explains how the soul, the located foot, makes no show/ to move, but doth, if the other do. ” The fixed foot of the compass stays in the center tour the other one makes a circle around it. It doesnt matter how far apart they are, the two feet will always stay together. The axis in the middle is the force that holds their love together.Done alike shows how it doesnt matter how far he is away from her. In stanza 8 Done describes how the feet of the compass are compared to him and his lover. When he Is talking about the feet he says how â€Å"It learns and hearkens it, And grows erect, as that comes shell. ” What this is saying Is that she moldiness stay at home and Walt while he â€Å"roams” around. But when he comes home she will be excited to crack him. She has to know that since their love Is like a compass they will always be connected. That one day he will come home and that they will be grit together again. In this poem,Done starts out by explaining how he Is going to feature to leave and that there Is nothing his lover can do about It. He compares this to how people pass away and that they dont have the choice. He tells her that worrying will be pointless and that It will not be worth It because In the end he will return. Done uses the example of how people worry about the earths natural occurrences and how this is a waste of time. Always stick together.
